When you buy a gift card through Custard, your cashback is applied immediately—no waiting for validation or needing to spend the card first. It’s all instant!

Just choose a retailer, select the gift card value, and your digital card will be delivered to your Custard wallet straight away. As soon as your purchase is confirmed, your cashback will be credited to your account. Ready to cash out once you reach a balance of £10.

You’re free to spend your gift card however you like—use the full balance in one go or save some for later. Be sure to check the expiry date of gift cards. 

Yes! Whether it’s for a friend, family member, or a treat for yourself, you’ll earn cashback as long as the purchase is made through Custard.

Once purchased, you can choose to share the gift card with whoever you wish. 

Custard offers several payment options. 

1. Pay via Apple or Goole pay, using your bank card. You will notice that we offer slightly lower cashback when purchasing this way, as this is to cover the higher fees that we incur for this. This payment will run via Stripe, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. 

2. Pay by Bank. Also referred to as Open Banking and Faster Payments, this payment runs directly to your bank and incurs lower fees, meaning we give you more cashback. This payment will run via TrueLayer, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. 

Yes, gift cards do expire; however, most have a long shelf life, but expiry dates can vary by retailer. They generally range from 12 months to 24 months. 

We’ll always display the expiry info clearly before you buy, so you know exactly how long you’ve got to use it.

All gift cards from Custard are digital—you won’t receive anything physical in the post.

Before you buy, we’ll clearly show whether the gift card can be used in-store, online, or both, as this can vary depending on the retailer—so it’s always worth checking.

For online purchases, you’ll typically enter the gift card number and, if needed, a PIN—both will be displayed on your digital card. If you’re using it in-store, the barcode can usually be scanned directly at the checkout.

Many gift cards can also be added to your Apple or Google Wallet for quick and easy access when you’re out and about.
